Our Wall/Ceiling Repair Process
Cracks, nail pops, and damaged drywall are common problems in both walls and ceilings. We take the time to repair these areas properly, leaving a smooth, solid surface that’s ready for paint.
1. Inspecting the Damage
We start by inspecting the walls and ceilings for cracks, loose drywall tape, nail pops, and other damage. We determine what caused the issue so we can make the appropriate repair and reduce the chances of it returning.
2. Repairing Cracks and Drywall Tape
We remove any loose or damaged tape and apply new drywall tape with joint compound where needed. For larger cracks, we reinforce the damaged area before applying additional coats of compound, feathering each coat into the surrounding surface for a smooth finish.
3. Fixing Nail Pops
Nail pops occur when drywall fasteners begin pushing through the finished surface. We secure the drywall with properly placed screws, address the raised fasteners, and cover the affected areas with joint compound.
4. Sanding and Final Touch-Ups
Once the compound dries, we sand the repaired areas smooth and inspect them for imperfections. Whenever practical, we use wet sanding to minimize airborne dust. Any remaining imperfections are touched up before moving forward.
5. Priming and Painting
After the repairs are complete, we prime the affected areas to seal the compound and help prevent visible patches. We then paint the repaired surfaces, blending the finish with the surrounding walls or ceilings whenever possible.
Our goal with every drywall repair is to leave the surface looking as close to its original condition as possible, with clean workmanship and repairs that last.
